What does 'work' look like in the new economy? How do we design spaces for the kind of collaboration required to break out of our silos and truly work together? You are invited to bring your knowledge and perspectives to advance projects happening now around shared spaces and hubs. Local non-profits, social enterprises and entrepreneurs are marshalling their collective resources to create shared spaces in the CRD that turn rent into equity, offer enterprise-building services, and incubate local innovation.

This workshop will seek input on local shared working space projects, providing an opportunity for the project leaders to engage each other and the broader community and to explore and map the types of outcomes that the projects may deliver.

Join a breakout group to learn first hand about a shared space project that is underway or already happening in the region. This is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of shared spaces and collaboration, and what it takes to get one off the ground. Featuring Speakers and Hosts:

  • Interarts –Community Centre for Creators
  • WestShore Social Enterprise Centre (WSEC)
  • Susan Low-Community Social Planning Council
  • Sage Baker- Prosperity Pollinators

During this session we will activate the power of people learning together through dialogue and conversation during a World Café. What kinds of benefits can shared spaces bring to the community? What could be the future of shared space? Get ready to explore together…
